" When I’m with horses I experience a state of exuberance and awe. I have the same sensation when I’m behind an easel with a paintbrush in hand and a kaleidoscope of pigments on my canvas. It’s through the combining of these interests, I find harmony. A creature of contrast, I've always been captivated by the beauty, power and nature of horses. My hope is that through my work you may experience the same sense of awe that has fueled my work through the years. "

Lauren Beights is an American artist, who never outgrew her childhood love of horses and art. While it remains unclear which came first, the two remain inseparable. Growing up in rural Virginia, Lauren spent much of her time riding and drawing horses. She is a self-taught artist, specializing in equestrian art and oil portraiture. Lauren discovered oil painting as a teenager, beginning with a painting of a mare and foal that ignited her passion for the medium. After graduating from the University of Virginia, she spent the next several years traveling abroad, nonetheless, returning to her easel. Her works have been represented in venues and galleries all across the country. In 2022, Lauren released her first children's book, Perfect You. She hopes to leave her own unique hoofprint through her art and storytelling.
